Today we have brought you a holy and beautiful place located in the hills of Hajo town,'Poa Mecca '.

Poa Mecca, Hajo 

This holy shrine is located in Hajo, Kamrup district, Assam. 30 km away from Guwahati city this  is a must visit place .Through the curvy roads from foothills of this place to Poa Mecca is really amazing. This shrine is about 3 km away from main road. Thousands of visitors come to visit this place every year. Crowd reach its peak during the month of January. With no doubts one can say Hajo being a holy and sacred place of many temples and shrines. So, this place is one of the tourist attraction in Northeast.

 According to myth sacred saint from Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah brough here 1/4 kg i .e . 'One Poa ' soil of holy Mecca within one night in horses . After that this became a sacred shrine. Many people across Assam as well as northeast visit this place to make their wish. Many have made their fortunes too as per the local people. Apart from the worldly things you can find here inner peace. Environment is cool and calm here. Whole of the hill is covered with deciduous trees making the surrounding more pleasant.
